School Uniform
Please make sure your child comes to school in our designated school uniform. We have had numerous children attending school in jeans and t-shirts. As you can imagine we take pride in our school appearance. The school colours are maroon and grey, as far as possible and to conform with the dress code these colours should be observed when purchasing school clothes.
End of day arrangements
Thank you to all parents who have been sending in notes when end of day arrangements are changed. This has made a huge difference in helping us to ensure pupils go on the correct transport. However we are still having problems with people calling to make last minute arrangements. Please, please send information to the class teacher in writing as we don’t have the staffing to continually relay phone messages and this is when mistakes happen. So please – If the information you gave us at the beginning of the year has changed, give updated information to the class teacher. Put any changes in end of day arrangements in writing to the class teacher. If you are collecting pupils, make sure you are in the playground to do so as teachers have been advised not to allow pupils out of the school gates without an adult if they are being collected. Only telephone with changes in an emergency and please advise us of changes before lunch time. Any late calls must be absolute emergencies.
Essentials
Please make sure that every item of clothing, footwear and all belongings are clearly named. This is essential to allow us to return items which are mislaid. Please can you ensure your child has indoor/outdoor shoes, t-shirt, shorts and gym rubbers in a gym bag - essential on Mondays and Tuesdays, trainers for outdoor gym (if possible) and pencils/rubber (P2-7) for class work.
As you are aware, school budgets are very tight: We would really appreciate any help you can give and particularly if you could send in a box of tissues each term to keep our stocks up over the winter period. Any other donations of stationary are welcome. We would appreciate any games/activities in good condition which can be used at Golden time. If you have finished using these at home we would be delighted to have them.
On Fridays, we have a pupil who attends the school with a severe allergy to eggs. Would it be possible to avoid any type of food with an egg content on that day.
